What is holistic health awareness? | Rising up
The Holistic Health awareness a comprehensive view of the Health in which man in his entirety – i.e. body, mind and soul – and his environment are taken into account. In contrast to the traditional holistic health awareness, which already includes various aspects of human being, the holistic approach of this understanding is expanding to integrate the social and ecological environment.
Definition of holistic health awareness
The term “holistic” is derived from the Greek word “Holos”, which means “entirely” or “total”. In the context of health, this means that not only physical symptoms are considered, but also psychological, emotional, social and ecological factors are included in health promotion and maintenance. It is about understanding and promoting the complex interactions between the individual and its environment.
Different to traditional holistic health awareness
While holistic health awareness is already regarded as a unity of body, mind and soul and, for example, integrates methods such as Yoga, Meditation or Ayurveda, holistic health awareness goes one step further. It also includes external living conditions, such as the quality of social relationships, the work environment and ecological sustainability. It is recognized that factors such as pollution, social isolation or professional stress can have a significant impact on health.
Practical application of holistic health awareness
In practice, holistic health awareness means that prevention and health promotion not only take place at an individual level, but also take into account social and ecological aspects. Examples of this are:
- Nutrition: The focus is on a balanced, plant -based diet that promotes both individual health and is environmentally friendly.
- Movement: Regular physical activity, which not only serves the fitness, but also strengthens mental well -being, for example through activities in nature.
- Environmental awareness: A conscious handling of resources and promoting a healthy environment because it directly affects human health.
- Social relationships: Maintaining interpersonal relationships and communities that offer support and belonging.
By integrating these aspects, the holistic health awareness aims to create a harmonious balance between the individual and its environment and thus increase the general well -being.
