360 Emergence – Movement as a way to inner freedom

360 Emergence is a somatic exercise practice that invites people to reconcile body, mind and soul through conscious, free movement. Developed by Amber Ryan and Kate Shela, both former teachers of the popular 5rhythm practice, integrates 360 Emergence knowledge from somatic approaches, dance therapy, consciousness work and Meditation into a unique experience that is based on deep self-exploration and authentic encounter.

The differences to 5rhythms and ecstatic dance

While 5rhythms use clearly defined movement rhythms and specific steps to use dancersLeading the inside through emotional and energetic conditions, 360 Emergence deliberately avoids predetermined dance patterns and instead relies on intuitive, spontaneous movements. EcStatic Dance, in turn, is often characterized by an intensive community experience, in which collective energy is in the foreground and DJ-led music bears the mood. In contrast, 360 Emergence emphasizes the individual experience more, encourages dancersInside to introspective, personal work and at the same time creates space for connecting encounters.

Focus in practice

At the center of 360 Emergence is the idea that every movement is an expression of the current moment. The body serves as a medium to explore internal truths, emotions and patterns. The focus is on promoting presence, authenticity and conscious embodiment. Dancers are guided to immerse themselves deeply in their physical sensations and to detach themselves from limiting beliefs and behavior patterns. Important aspects of practice are Mindfulnessconscious breath, connection to yourself and others as well as research into personal limits and potential.

The typical process of a 360 Emergence session

A session usually begins with a short introduction, followed by a gentle, guided warm -up phase in which the participants are invited to connect with their breath and body feeling. Then it goes into a phase of free, intensive movement, accompanied by carefully selected, often eclectic music that promotes emotions and intuitive reactions. The conclusion is a reflection phase, often in silence or with careful exercises, to integrate and process the experiences experienced.
